The purpose of the Deacon Ministry, as found in the book of Acts, is to promote church harmony, minister to the welfare of the membership, and free the ministers to give themselves more to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.  The Deacon Body of First Baptist church Dennis serves as a ministering, rather than an admistrative body.
